Monroe County Legislator Carmen Gumina represents
the 8th District, serving a majority of the Town and all of the
Village
of
Webster
.
Carmen was first elected to the Legislature in 2007. He currently
sits on both the Planning and Economic Development and the Recreation
and Education Committees. Carmen is committed to collaborative
problem solving to confront economic and development
issues facing
MonroeCounty
.
In March of 2008, he was appointed to the Cornell Cooperative Extension Task Force.

Carmen attended
BinghamtonUniversity
, where he
received his bachelors degree in biology. He earned his Masters
Degree in Immunology and Microbiology at the
University
of
RochesterSchool
of
Medicine
,
where he was named a Sproull Fellow. Carmen served as a high school
biology teacher in the
WebsterSchool District
for 14
years, and is a recipient of the Disney American Science Teacher of
the Year Award. Carmen has been the principal of
StateRoad Elementary School
since 2004.
Carmen and his wife, Sheri, live in Webster with
their two children, Grace and Adriana. Among his hobbies, he enjoys
being an avid runner and keeping up with his legislative colleague
Carrie Andrews and Mayor Duffy in 5Ks and half marathons.
