Monroe County Legislator Cynthia Kaleh represents the 28thDistrict,
which includes the Lyell-Otis, Jay-Orchard, Dutchtown, Edgerton and
Maplewood
neighborhoods of northwest
Rochester
.
Cindy was first appointed to the Legislature in January 2008. She
currently sits on both the Agenda Charter and
Transportation Committees and was appointed to the Arts and Cultural Council in March of 2008.
Cindy was raised in
Maplewood
, attended #41 School, John Marshall
H.S. and graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a BS in Speech Pathology &
Audiology. As the past president and a long-time member of the
Maplewood Neighborhood Association, Cindy has played a critical
leadership role in a number of projects, including Sector 2 and
neighborhood public safety initiatives, the Main Street Maplewood project, the development and
rehabilitation of playground facilities at Maplewood Park, the
erection of the landmark Maplewood Arch at the intersection of Lake
Avenue and Ridge Road West, a plan for Dewey Avenue beautification,
the Maplewood Rose Festival, Party
on the Bridge and the annual historic home tour. In 1992, Cindy and
her husband Lawrence opened KalTech Support Team, Inc. an IT/
computer services business located on Mount Read Boulevard in
Rochester
.
Cindy
has also served as a member of a number of community groups and
committees including the Mayor’s Focused Investment Strategy
Committee, the Weed & Seed Committee, Kodak Advisory Council, Injury
Free Coalition for Children at Golisano Children’s Hospital, PACTAC,
the Zero Tolerance Task Force and is a member of the NWest
Provisional Rotary.

. They have two
grown children Jordan of Brooklyn, NY and Farah, married and
presently serving in the U.S. Army.
