Carrie Andrews represents the 21st District, which includes parts of Northeast Rochester. She currently serves on the Ways and Means Committee as well as on the Human Services Committee. She is the youngest woman ever elected to the Monroe County Legislature and has served since 2005.
Carrie brings a deep concern for educational and social justice to the Monroe County Legislature. After earning her Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations in 2001, Carrie moved to Rochester from her home in Trumansburg, NY. She is an active member of the social justice group, Metro Justice, and is a member of the Monroe County Fishery Advisory Board and the American Cancer Society Board of Advisors.
Professionally, Carrie is focused on education. As a Labor Relations Specialist with New York State United Teachers, Carrie represents educators throughout Upstate New York. She fights for living wages, health insurance and good working conditions for working families. For fun, she enjoys running, traveling and gardening. She lives on Roseview Avenue in the City of Rochester.
