The Democratic Caucus of the Monroe County Legislature announced today that its website at is again available to help citizens and taxpayers better understand the inner workings of their county government. The site is home to basic information needed for county residents to engage with the legislative process, such as the legislature's calendar, changes to the times and dates of  committee meetings, and contact information for individual legislators.

"County residents will be able to find complete copies of pending legislation and information requests submitted to the County Administration, many of which are routinely ignored and go unanswered," said Democratic Leader Carrie M. Andrews (D- Rochester). "We are proud to use our site to share this Caucus's record of introducing legislation, exercising its statutory oversight responsibilities over county agencies, and attempting to make this county's government more accessible to the people it represents."

Beyond these features, the site also contains correspondence from the Democratic Caucus to the County Administration on a number of topics, such as the county's local development corporations, the lucrative taxpayer-funded legal contract with former GOP Attorney General Dennis Vacco, and the mismanagement of county run golf courses. The Democratic Caucus welcomes feedback that would make the site more useful to constituents by email or by phone at (585) 753-1940.
